TMC "Protecting their Shahjahan" by attacking Sandeshkhali women: Modi in Purulia
CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat has thrown down the gauntlet to Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, urging him to contest the 2024 general elections from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The challenge comes amidst a heated exchange between the governor and the Kerala state government over unresolved university bills, with accusations of interference at the behest of the BJP.
Brinda Karat, a member of the CPI(M)'s Politburo, suggested that if Governor Khan is keen on entering politics, he should take the BJP ticket and contest seats in Kerala during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Emphasizing the need for political clarity, she remarked, "Dudh ka dudh, pani ka pani ho jayega" (everything will become clear.
Governor Khan's strained relations with the state government have manifested in disputes over unpaid bills and the nature of legislative consent. Karat urged the governor to resolve differences with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan rather than diminishing the stature of his office through frequent public statements.
